The Cincinnati Reds have signed veteran shortstop Orlando Cabrera on a one-year rolling contract, Major League Baseball reported on its website (MLB.com) on Sunday. The deal is worth $3 million and includes an option for 2011 at the same value that also carries a $1 million buyout clause. The 35-year-old Cabrera batted .284 with nine home runs and 77 RBIs in 160 combined games for the Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins last season.
